Trusted Website Builders helps users make informed choices about different website builders. The platform aims to simplify the process by making it easy for users to find, compare, and access information about the websites listed above, ensuring they choose the best option for their needs.

The Challenge

To provide the best comparisons for customers, we focused on every aspect of the user journey, from compilation and flexible filters to quick searches and intuitive navigation. The key challenge was to create a central hub that highlights only the finest website builders, enabling users to filter quickly for the best options without having to visit multiple websites.

User Interviews

We interviewed a total of six users and two SMEs, which gave us a lot of important insights that I am listing below.

Let’s start with some interesting quotes from our users

Beginner

I read the complete article and it's really nice. One thing I would mention here is that I don't recommend people share hosting because it has so many issues with uptime and support. I always recommend buying small cloud servers like Digitalocean, Linode, Vultr and AWS lightsail. You should review them too. At Cloud ways you can launch these servers with a few clicks so that is also a good choice to manage your servers :)

Coders who want to change

An old timer with php/html trying to move over to WordPress the last couple of years, I’ve found your website invaluable. Thanks for explaining things like the reader may have no idea, because that’s exactly what I needed!! You have cleared up so many basic questions I’ve had because my brain was still in programming mode. After 12 years with GoDaddy, I just went over to HostGator after reading your reviews and found them just as accommodating as you said. I volunteer my services for several non profits and this change will help me out a ton! Many thanks, guys, you are much appreciated!

Affinity Mapping

After the interviews, I noted down the user preferences and problems collected from my interviewees on post-it notes, then I grouped these notes into an affinity map, which helped me identify recurring themes and issues.

The following are the points that the users want:

Types of sites users are typically building:

Next Steps

  • Expand the overall selection of categories and topics

  • A/B test label naming conventions and navigation for ease of use/recognition

  • Implementation Phase, work with developers the entire process.

  • Focus on iteration

  • Explore more categories

Conclusions

From this project, we found that users want (and need) to see actual reviews, as well as information presented in a way that isn't text-heavy. By taking these insights to heart, we were able to deliver a final product that our users appreciated.

We also built trust with users by showing the ratings of features for each website builder, along with real reviews published on the internet.

Some challenges I ran into

• Working with users that did not know what they wanted from an evaluation tool.

• Presenting critical information while working within a very limited amount of space.

• Making it as easy to scan as possible, and accounting for responsiveness of the information across multiple screens

Final thoughts

With our final approach, we received a lot of positive feedback from our users that the platform was easy to use and the information useful, which made them feel confident about their decision making process choosing the right website builder.

To improve on what we delivered, I would focus on adding multiple filter options that make the user experience even stronger.

Moving Forward !
